Intake Inquiry
Seeking assistance and guidance for a family violence situation that requires support and intervention to ensure the safety and well-being of all parties involved.
The intake assessment is a thorough process of gathering information about an individual or family experiencing family violence, to understand their needs, determine appropriate services, and develop a personalized support plan.
Receiving services from a family violence agency involves accessing comprehensive support, including counseling, safety planning, legal assistance, and resources tailored to address the effects of family violence, promoting safety, healing, and empowerment.
I was referred to counselling by my case worker at BWAHS and since I have been attending it has helped me to manage my stress and anxiety. When I leave, I feel calm and good about myself. Counselling has helped me to gain a better understanding of family violence and how it has impacted my kids. It has helped me improve my relationships with my kids. It’s an amazing service.
Feedback from a client re his engagement with the counsellor
Without BWAHS I would not be where I am today. They have helped me so much. My partner and I attend counselling with Leanna and the children are now back in our care.
This time when I came out of prison, and I became involved with BWAHS it changed me! I have my children back and I have my family back. At times when they didn’t have to do things for me, they did!!! They went that extra mile.
I am in the best place now for the first time in 5 years.
Thanks Boorndawan!
Feedback to Women's Therapeutic Counselling
Between BWAHS case worker and the counsellor they have really supported and guided me through some really rough stuff. My case worker has physically been there at court whilst my ex was in the room, she helped me navigate how to sell my property under difficult circumstances and we got there.
Feedback received from a client engaged with ICM and Counselling
When we first got referred to BWAHS we had lost custody of our children due to FV. I have been with BWAHS for a long time. The children were really resentful of what we put them through, and they started to get counselling from the children’s counsellor. The counsellor was so great, she made me celebrate what we had achieved and recognised the areas that I needed help with. She referred me to BWAHS Integrated Family Services, and I now have a case worker. I met the case worker about 2 weeks ago and she made me feel very comfortable. Every worker I have been involved with at BWAHS has gone above and beyond and I am very grateful for the support they have provided me.
